When asked about his ambitions for the team this season, David made it clear that he wants to avenge the fact that he didn’t win the championship last year: “I personally had a lot of bad luck last season with 2 DNFs. You can’t afford that when you’re challenging for the title. This year I’m racing in my own team, and there will be no team orders – everyone will be in it to win it, including myself”. David does however face competition from the likes of Kenny Thirwall, Oly Mortimer and former team mate Joe Tanner: “It’s a tough field, but we’ll know more by Sunday night”.
Asked about his ambitions for his new teammate Des Wheatley, David was also confident about his chances “Certainly Des can challenge for the Newcomer’s title. If he manages to complete every race he’ll have a fighting chance.”
This weekend, David Sleigh racing also welcomes former Legends driver David Meiklejohn into the fold. Everyone in the team welcomes David and hope that he’ll become a regular feature.
So ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, make sure you get yourself to Knockhill for what’s no doubt going to be a cracking weekend of racing. Hope to see you there.
